OGUN: Ojo Emmanuel Emerged Commonwealth Youth State Coordinator At 20th Anniversary Of Organization
At the relaunch meeting and remarkable 20 years anniversary of Commonwealth Youth Organization of Nigeria, Ogun State held at the organization Office, Old Government Secretariat, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta on Saturday the 11th day if November 2023, history was made as Youth Council when Ojo Emmanuel became the State Coordinator of Commonwealth Youth Organization of Nigeria, affiliate of the Royal Commonwealth Society, London.
Until January 2024, Ojo remains the coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria ABEOKUTA NORTH BRANCH when he will be handling over to another person, in that capacity to another local executive council.
Along his appointment, other officials were also announced at the same time.
Remember, that the Commonwealth Youth Organization in Ogun State had celebrated her 20 years of existence from its launch in the year 2013 by the founding team led by Apostle (Dr.) Tola Adenekan, who was also a 2-term State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in the state.
By this development, the founding coordinator has now enthroned a new management after the reign of Olusola Obadimu, who now resides in America.
The Commonwealth Youth Nigeria was established on the 8th March 1993 at the instance of the late queen of England by Mr. Blackson Olaseni Bayewunmi and Egba man 10 years before it came to be in Ogun State.

After the visit of Queen Elizabeth of England to Nigeria, when she approved the Nigerian youths for the Commonwealth Youth Organization, Nigeria has began to enjoy the benefits of being member of the Royal Commonwealth Society, London like other 56-member countries.
The relaunch meeting as tagged featured major 3 sections of presentations: overview into the Commonwealth Youth Organization of Nigeria that also highlighted the achievements and activities of the organization since inception; an indepth and expository lecture of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and how it affects the activities of the world especially the United Nations, the importance of these goals on us as an organization among others; and the last presentation on the knowledge on “Violence Against Persons Acts of Ogun State” taken by Dr. Tola Adenekan, Mrs. Mojisola Akinsanya and Mr. Olusola Olufemi. These three world-class trainers are products of the Commonwealth Youth Ogun State.
The new management team is expected to work with both foreign and local organizations and governments among the Commonwealth nations. Most importantly, they were charged to stage multiple youth activities in and across the state in alignment with the 17 goals of the SDGs.
In a statement signed by the director of administration, Chris Olokodana, and made available to newsmen, the new management team headed by Ojo Emmanuel Enitan as state coordinator also has Chris Olokodana as director of administration, Olutayo Muinat Labake as directo of finance, Tolani Sodipe as director of Programmes, Oluwasegun Ojeleye as director of monitoring and evaluation, Amuda Tajudeen Gbenga as director of campus extension, Babatunde Adetutu and Obadimu Olusola as ex-officios.
After their oath administration and inauguration, the team pledged to deliver on their responsibilities. According to the new state coordinator in his acceptance speech, the team will work tirelessly towards fostering unity and promoting the rich norms and culture of the organization and the nation at large.
He charged the members for the utmost support to collectively achieve the goals of Commonwealth Nigeria, guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
At the end of the meeting, the newly inaugurated director of administration, Comrade Olokodana, appreciated all in attendance; the leaders and founders, members and supporters of the CYON, while he concluded with prayers for journey mercies for everyone back to their variuos destinations.
