Ogun LG Polls: Governor Abiodun Votes, Commends Peaceful Exercise Amid Strong Voter Turnout
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State cast his vote on Saturday at Polling Unit 002, Ita Osanyin, Iperu Ward 3, during the local government elections. The governor, voting at approximately 11:24 a.m., praised the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) for organizing a largely peaceful and credible exercise.
Speaking to journalists afterward, Abiodun acknowledged minor logistical challenges but confirmed they had been addressed, ensuring election materials reached every part of the state. He expressed satisfaction with the voter turnout, interpreting it as a sign of trust in the electoral process.
“The turnout today shows that our people have confidence in this process, and I believe their choices will reflect in the results,” he said.
The governor also lauded security agencies for maintaining order and called on the media to provide objective coverage of the election to avoid misleading the public.
