The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in a powerful display of unity and enthusiasm, held its Day 3 campaign rally in Ward 6, Itunsokun, Sagamu, drawing significant support and energizing attendees ahead of the upcoming local elections. Key PDP leaders and candidates, including Sagamu’s respected Alhaja Mujidat Abeke Ogunaike, fired up the crowd, calling for resilience and encouraging voters to secure victory for the party.

The rally opened with traditional PDP songs, setting the tone for the passionate speeches that followed. Alhaja Taye Kalejaiye, the Otun Yeye Oge of Itunsokun, expressed gratitude to the people for their loyalty to the PDP and urged them to stand firm at the polls. “Don’t just vote; protect your votes,” she emphasized.

Hon. Waliu Balogun, Olori Ilu of Oke Beere, recalled incidents of electoral disruption in the last election by APC members. He warned voters to stay vigilant and safeguard their ballots, pledging that the PDP will ensure fair and free elections this time.

Alhaja Adekunle Olubunkola Radiant, a revered community leader, praised PDP members for their dedication, highlighting the hardships under the ruling APC and urging supporters to vote decisively for change. Former Speaker Hon. Abana introduced the chairmanship candidate, Dr. Oyenuga Adeshola Jamiu (Jasper), and his running mate, Engineer Olatunji Odunayo Munirudeen (Mark Fish), describing them as a dynamic team ready to lead Sagamu.

The arrival of Alhaja Mujidat Abeke Ogunaike electrified the rally, marking a high point as the crowd welcomed her with cheers. PDP Chairman Deacon Adeyemi Dauda introduced the party’s councilorship candidate, Mr. Awoyemi Moshood Omolayo (Opolo), presenting him with the party flag—a powerful symbol of the PDP’s commitment to Sagamu.

The rally concluded with a vote of thanks from Ward Six Chairman Mr. Odutola Nifemi (JJC), who led a rousing chant of “PDP… Power!” as supporters cheered, hopeful for a successful election outcome.
