Ogun Lawmaker, Hon. Damilare Bello, Honored As ‘Anti-Corruption Ambassador’ For Promoting Transparency

The Chairman of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption, Hon. Damilare Bello Mohammed, has been conferred with the prestigious title of “Anti-Corruption Ambassador” by the Fight Against Corruption Organisation (FACO) on Wednesday 12th of March, 2025. The award recognizes his dedication to upholding integrity, probity, accountability, and transparency in governance.
Presenting the award, the Executive Chairman of the organisation, Dr. Francis Sopekan, commended Hon. Bello for his relentless efforts in ensuring accountability in public administration. He stated that the committee, under Bello’s leadership, had played a crucial role in promoting financial discipline and oversight in the state’s governance. According to Dr. Sopekan, the organisation had keenly observed the committee’s activities and found them worthy of commendation. He urged Hon. Bello to remain steadfast in his fight against corruption, as his influence continues to shape governance in Ogun State.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Bello expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a testament to his unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and the eradication of corruption. He emphasized the importance of courtesy and ethical leadership, stating that respect, trust, and strong relationships were necessary to achieve sustainable progress in governance. He reassured the people of Ogun State that his committee would continue to enforce financial discipline and good governance.
The lawmaker applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his consistent support in ensuring that the Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption Committee effectively carries out its mandate. He also appreciated the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and his fellow legislators for their cooperation in the collective fight against corruption. He noted that their synergy had significantly contributed to the positive transformation witnessed in the state’s financial management and governance.
