OGUN: Gov’t Commences Demolition Of Buildings In Oju Ore As 64km Ota-Idiroko Road Construction Begins

The Federal Government has started demolishing buildings to make way for the construction of the 64-kilometre Oju Ore, Ota-Idiroko road.

The demolition is ongoing as of the time of this, ojú ore report.

The Eaglesforesight gathered that notice of the demolition was given to the occupants about a month ago.

The demolition of buildings along the stretch ECOWAS road started today, 4th July, 2024.

In January, our correspondence reports that the construction project for the 64-kilometre Ota-Idiroko road, with a budget of N15 billion, was approved, marking a significant step forward in its realization.

This project is one of the major road constructions outlined in the 2024 budget, following an increase in the Ministry of Works’ budget allocation to N1.03 trillion, a substantial rise from the proposed N657.3 billion.

This reflects a 56.7% increase from the original figure and a 65.4% increase from the 2023 budget allocation.
