Action Alliance (AA) gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state, Samuel Adeyemi, has vowed to tackle corruption if elected governor.
Adeyemi said that if elected, his government will establish a state-owned anti-graft agency to rid his government and the state of corrupt practices.
The Ijebu Igbo-born doctor who emerged via consensus agreement stated this at a press conference held to announce the party’s campaign in Abeokuta.
He claimed that Ogun workers, pensioners, students, youth, artisans, traders, transporters and the physically disabled would not regret voting for the party, adding that AA is “dedicated to the emancipation of the suffering masses “.
“Our vision is to turn Ogun State into the most secure state in Nigeria, the best economy and the most productive center of industrial activity in Africa,” he said.
Adeyemi promised that education will be free up to the first grade with conditions applied, adding that health care will be free for pregnant mothers and schoolchildren up to the age of 18.
He said he would complete the two airports in progress in Ogun State and “build a rail infrastructure to connect them to the different parts of the state, using any combination of financing available.”
He further noted that in the 2023 election, the party is contesting all 40 positions in Ogun, saying “We have structure and agents in all 236 wards.”
