OGHA Lawmaker Visits Odiolowo Market To Commiserate With Victims Of The Fire Inferno Hours After

The Ogun Deputy Leader and the Lawmaker representing the good people of Sagamu Constituency 1, Hon. ABDUL Bashir Oladunjoye, popularly known as SEGUN SHITTA has commiserated with victims of an inferno outbreak in the popular Odi Olowo market, area of Sabo Sagamu, Ogun State, an incident that occurred in the midnight hours of Thursday, January 12th, 2023, razed down several shops, properties, businesses and destroyed goods worth millions of naira.

Hon. Shitta who went with the staff of the State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA) was deeply saddened by this development which included irrecoverable valuable goods and properties lost to the inferno.

He shares in the pain and anguish of all affected hardworking constituents who lost their wares, goods and belongings in the unfortunate fire incident.

Recall, that the Deputy Leader on Wednesday, 21st December 2022, install a series of Solar Street Lights in the Odi Olowo Market which was to help in the security as a result of various insecurity activities experienced in this market.

He pledged his support by using the strong collaborative efforts between the executive and legislative arms of government to facilitate the effort of the state government to relieve the plight of the fire victims and bring back the economic viability of this community.

Lastly, Hon. Shitta and the team assessed by visiting all the affected areas to ascertain the extent of loss and damages. He prayed for God to restore what the victims had lost and the grace to bear the colossal loss.

while he also shared with stakeholders of this market to always put in place safety measures in place to prevent future fire outbreaks.

He reiterated in his remark while addressing the market stakeholders and others “while the investigation is ongoing, let me reassure you of
government intervention to give life back to the market and the victims at large.”
