Ogbeni Odulate Inaugurates Market Boards, Unveils Development Plans For Sagamu

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has officially inaugurated newly constituted Market Boards for five markets within the local government, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to structured market leadership and economic growth.
During the ceremony, Ogbeni Odulate charged the board members with the responsibility of maintaining peace, ensuring order, and fostering a strong relationship with traditional market leaders. He emphasized that their collective efforts would enhance the smooth running of market activities and boost local commerce.
Beyond the market board inauguration, Odulate unveiled several groundbreaking development projects aimed at modernizing Sagamu and improving governance. These include:
Construction of an Information Technology (IT) Centre to enhance digital literacy and innovation.
Conversion of a section of the Town Hall into a Job Centre, providing employment opportunities by connecting job seekers with local industries.
Modernization of the Legislative Hall to align with contemporary legislative standards.
Reconstruction of Sode Road, Sabo, a key infrastructure project aimed at improving road conditions for residents and traders.

In a move to strengthen grassroots governance, Odulate announced plans to appoint 15 Special Advisers on Political Matters, one from each ward in Sagamu Local Government. This initiative aims to enhance political engagement, representation, and effective governance at the community level.
Additionally, he disclosed that his administration would soon appoint board members for Falawo Market and Itesiwaju Market, Ogijo, ensuring all key commercial hubs in Sagamu have structured leadership.
Tribute to Late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya)
In a solemn moent, the Chairman led attendees in observing a minute of silence in honor of the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya), who passed away two months ago. He prayed for her soul’s eternal rest, recognizing her contributions to Sagamu’s development.
The event was attended by party stakeholders, local government officials, executive cabinet members, and community well-wishers, reflecting broad support for the administration’s vision.
