NPFL Transfer: Ghana’s Daniel Akanbek Renews Contract With Remo, Suleiman Leaves Akwa United
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Remo Stars, has extended the contract of their Ghanaian midfielder, Daniel Akanbek.
Daniel Akanbek has been playing for Remo Stars since the beginning of last season. The 23-year-old midfielder joined the club from Ghanaian side, Nations Football Club.
Based on a statement on Remo Stars X page, Akanbek has extended his contract with the Ogun-state-based club for two more years.
“We are delighted to announce that Daniel Akanbek has signed a new contract extension with the Stars,” a statement from the club earlier today, July 22, 2024, reads.
“The Ghanaian put pen to paper on a two-year deal.”

Meanwhile, Sani Suleiman has left NPFL club, Akwa United, for a Slovakian side, AS Trencin, after a prolific campaign in the domestic league last season.
In the 2023-2024 season, the 17-year-old forward helped Akwa United to remain in the NPFL by scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 15 league appearances.
This performance helped the former Wikki Tourists player to win the NPFL Rookie of the Season at the 2024 League Bloggers Award.
His form attracted the attention of the Slovakian side who gave him a two-year contract with an option for a year extension.
Note that AS Trencin have had Nigerian players like Moses Simon, Samuel Kalu and Hilary Gong on their roaster in the past.
