News Publisher Threatens Legal Action As GTBank Debit N97,800, Refuses Reversal Over 1-Month After Declined Alert

The founder and publisher of The Eaglesforesight, an online news medium, Bashiru Hammed Adewale Olamilekan otherwise known as Prince Lahbash has expressed displeasure as Guarantee Trust Bank (GTBank) refuses the reversal of his money over failed transactions.

“For more than five weeks now, despite complaints and lamentations, Guarantee Trust Bank has remorselessly ignored its customer.”

Bashiru Hammed have complained about declined transactions. He further lamented poor service delivery by the financial institution.

According to the Publisher, Lahbash said a sum of ₦97,800 in total was transferred respectively from his GTBank savings account to another bank (first bank and access) through a point of service (POS) merchant. He lamented that the beneficiary had yet to receive the fund over a month after and the money as well is yet to be refunded.

“On the 23rd and 24th of February respectively, I transferred the total sum of money ₦97,800. It is frustrating that till this moment, the beneficiary has yet to receive the money, the publisher lamented.”

“I was debited for a failed transaction of ₦72,600 on the 23rd of February 2023 and I have reported to bank, filed form over a month, I have tirelessly called customer care with no results, I have mailed them and nothing yet was done.”

“On the 24th of February, I also had a debit of ₦5,200 and in January a debit of ₦20,000 or so which I’m yet to be refunded too but I can’t remember the specific date at the moment”, Lahbash said.

The publisher with account name Bashiru Hammed Adewale and account number 0278706218, took the matter to his twitter handle: @PrinceLahbash and was almost scammed by a fake GTB online customer care.

Screenshots obtained by our correspondent revealed that the scammer had claimed that a minimum balance of N10,000 was needed in his account to aid an Instant Auto Reversal Of Funds Request.

“I had to take the matter to my twitter handle by dragging them and nothing yet was done after submitting the details upon request from their customer care.”

“I was almost scammed from fake GTBank customer care on twitter also, imagine me having money in my GTBank account, wasn’t that how I will be duped again?

Attempts to reach Gtbank proved impossible as our reporter was placed on a waiting call for 1 hour and counting.

He added; “failed transactions has subjected me to embarrassment. I have been tagged a liar. Network inconsistencies are a normal digital challenge, but customers should not be subjected to untold hardships.”

“I have already lost hope in GTBank. How I wish all Nigerians banking with them withdraw”, he lamented.
