The atmosphere at the Sagamu Local Government APC Secretariat was electric on Friday as Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji received a rousing welcome during her consultation visit to the party leadership in continuation of her Remo-wide engagement tour.

Party loyalists, executive members, and all 15 ward chairmen of Sagamu Local Government turned out in full force, signaling strong grassroots support for the Princess ahead of the anticipated bye-election.

In his opening address, APC Sagamu Chairman, Mr. Rauf Opaleye, commended the unity displayed by party stakeholders and described Princess Elegbeji as a tested mobilizer and passionate loyalist of the party. “She has consistently stood with us. Her track record speaks volumes,” he said.

The meeting commenced officially after the Party Secretary, Mr. Sulaimon Oyegunle, conducted a roll call of attendees and reiterated the purpose of the gathering.

A solemn moment was observed as Prince Quadri Balogun, Director General of the Elegbeji Campaign Organization, led a minute of silence in memory of the late Hon. (Chief) Yeye Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, acknowledging her enduring legacy in Remo politics.

Introducing Princess Elegbeji, former Senatorial Women Leader, Chief Mrs. Mojisola Oyende, praised her as “a compassionate and visionary woman,” noting that Remo is fortunate to have someone of her caliber seeking to represent them.

As Elegbeji took the stage to cheers and songs of solidarity, she delivered a message of gratitude and unity. “I thank God for His grace, and I sincerely appreciate our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his leadership in keeping our party united. I am not here to campaign, but to thank you all for your trust, love, and early endorsements,” she said.

Following her address, Princess Elegbeji was formally handed over to her ward chairman, Mr. Olasumbo, who offered heartfelt prayers on her behalf.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Ward Chairmen, Alhaji Rabiu Adeyinka (popularly known as Skippo), gave a glowing endorsement of Princess Elegbeji. “She’s not a stranger to us — she has always walked with us, listened to us, and stood by us. She is one of us, and we are confident she will bring the dividends of democracy to Remo.”

The event ended with a vote of thanks and prayers, leaving no doubt about the growing momentum behind Princess Elegbeji’s political journey.
