Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, candidate for the governorship of Lagos from the Labor Party (LP), has just caused quite a stir by beating 15 other candidates vying for the office of Lagos number one citizen in the upcoming 2023 general election, in an independent poll conducted on Tuesday.

Gbadebo obtained a total of 7,776 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Adediran Azeez Olajide, popularly referred to as Jandor.

While Sanwo-Olu got 4,711 in second, Jandor had 3,250 to finish a distant third in the poll.

The poll was launched on December 6, according to organizers, with the sole purpose of ensuring excellence in promoting credible elections, participatory democracy, human rights and strengthening institutions of governance for the consolidation of democracy practices around the world. that Nigeria is of great importance to them because of its position as the world’s most populous black nation and Africa’s second-largest economy.
