The trial of a suspected burglar, Jelili Tajudeen, before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, Lagos, continued on Thursday.

The defendant and a yet-to-be-identified accomplice (now deceased) were said to have broken into a house on Joshua Ashiyanbi Street, Alagbado, Lagos, where a resident, Ayodeji Asha, raised the alarm.

The action forced the men to scale the fence into another house, where they allegedly stabbed two men, Ndubuisi Ozor and Kenneth Uchenna.

Tajudeen is facing four counts of conspiracy, burglary and causing grievous harm.

The offences are punishable under sections 299, 307 (1) (a) and 245 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

A witness, Inspector Julius Olamegan, told the court that he was on duty at the Alagbado Police Station when the case was reported for investigation and the defendant brought in.

Olamegan said while investigating the matter, he was told by residents that two boys were injured by the defendants.

Exhibits tendered and admitted as evidence were cross-examined by the defence counsel, Anthonia Otsokwa.

The matter was adjourned till October 25, 2022, for continuation of trial.
