Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly is, once again, in the eye of the storm as he is being alleged to have padded the 2024 Lagos State Budget to the tune of billions of naira.

It was also revealed by Jackson Ude, a Social Commentator, that on a monthly basis, Obasa, representing Agege 1 Constituency at the Lagos State Hallowed Chamber is allocated some N1.6 billion which is mostly unaccounted for.

Ude who took to his X handle, @jacksonpbn alleged that Obasa own over 70 landed property in Agege, Ikorodu and other parts of the Lagos State. The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly is also alleged by Ude to own no fewer than 40 own houses in Ikorodu.

Jackson Ude disclosed that Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) had frozen over 64 accounts allegedly belonging to Obasa; using proxies, that included his mistresses, nieces, nephews and children to perpetrate his corrupt practices.

The revelation by Jackson Ude has again reinforced the call on the anti graft agencies, the EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences, (ICPC) to investigate allegations against Obasa whose corruption cases appeared to have been covered up since the changes of baton in EFCC following unceremonious removal and questionable detention of Abdul Rasheed Bawa.
