…Kwankwaso says viral statements are false and politically motivated

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has categorically dismissed reports suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urged him to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor of Kano State also denied ever stating that he would rather quit politics than rejoin the ruling party, describing the reports as false, misleading, and crafted to stir political confusion.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, Kwankwaso distanced himself from the viral claims, warning the public against consuming unverified information attributed to him.

“My attention has been drawn to a statement purportedly stating my position on the recurring political realignments in Nigeria,” he wrote.

“I wish to categorically state that such statements are false, unfounded, and products of political mischief. I have refrained from commenting on contemporary political events and I will continue to do so for the time being.”

The NNPP chieftain further urged Nigerians to rely solely on his verified social media pages and official communication channels for accurate updates on his political views and activities.

Kwankwaso’s statement comes amidst increasing political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections, with speculations swirling about possible mergers and realignments among major political figures.
