Just In: Three Lawmakers Has Been Suspended For Allegedly Attending Burial Ceremony In Imo State

The Imo State House Of Assembly has allegedly suspended three Lawmakers and declared their seat vacant.

The suspension of the lawmakers was announced on Thursday 23th December 2021 by the speaker of the House Honourable Kennedy Ibeh at the floor of the house.

There has been conflicting reports concerning the suspension of the three lawmakers as there are speculations that the suspension was that the lawmakers abandoned their legal duties to attend a burial ceremony of the mother of Uche Nwosu the son in-law to Rochas Okorocha.

Another source also said the lawmakers was suspended because when Governor Hope Uzodimma, presented the 2022 budget, the House promised to give it accelerated hearing. These lawmakers ignored to participate in the sitting and the Speaker was angry with their action. Therefore, they were suspended”

Those suspended are Hon Arthur Egwim (Ideato North), Ngozi Obiefule (Isu) and Hon Obinna Okwara (Nkwerre)

This latest suspension takes the number of Imo lawmakers Suspended to six weeks in a space of three months.
