Residents of Sagamu Local Government, Ogun State, have continued to shower praises on Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole for his groundbreaking Jigi ABO Eye Health Intervention, a free medical outreach aimed at improving the quality of life of the people through accessible eye care. The initiative, which has recorded massive turnout since its commencement, is part of ABO’s broader commitment to people-centered leadership and grassroots development across Remo zone.

One of the elated beneficiaries, Mrs. Oduwole Abosede, shared her testimony during the outreach in a brief interview, describing the program as a divine intervention. “For years, I searched tirelessly for an opportunity to receive proper eye care but couldn’t afford it. Thanks to Jigi ABO, I can now see clearly again. This is more than a medical program—it’s a restoration of dignity, clarity, and hope,” she said with gratitude.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Adeshina Bunmi Adigun, a key coordinator of the initiative, emphasized that the project was not just about vision correction but about empowering individuals to reclaim their lives and participate more actively in their communities. “When people are healthy, especially with something as essential as eyesight, they become more productive, confident, and engaged in civic matters, including voting during elections,” he said. He added that Jigi ABO aligns with the values of sustainable development and reflects a true model of progressive leadership.

In a separate remark, another key coordinator of the initiative, Sobayo Modupe Johnson popularly known as Nuvember, commended Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole for his foresight and consistent devotion to humanitarian causes. According to him, “What ABO has done through this health program cannot be overstated. He has touched lives and brought relief to hundreds who had given up hope of getting medical attention. The people of Remo must not forget this. It’s time to give back by standing solidly behind him in the political space.”

Echoing similar sentiments, a respected political figure and healthcare advocate in Remo, also the 2024 candidate of PDP in the Sagamu Local Government chairmanship election, Hon. (Dr.) Jamiu Adeshola Oyenuga otherwise known as Jasper lauded the initiative as one of the most impactful grassroots medical interventions witnessed in recent years. “It takes a man with a heart for the people to roll out such a comprehensive free eye care program. This is a statement of leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the masses. I urge our people to recognize his efforts and not disappoint him when the time comes to decide leadership at the polls in this forthcoming Remo Federal Constituency By-election,” he stated.

The outreach, which has drawn residents from all walks of life within Sagamu and beyond, particularly from Sagamu and its surrounding communities, is a testament to ABO’s popularity and the trust the people place in his leadership style. Volunteers, party faithful, and medical professionals have been working tirelessly to ensure every participant receives quality care, including eye screening, free glasses, and medication. The initiative is also boosting awareness on the importance of regular health checks among the elderly and vulnerable groups.

Comrade Bosun Davies Soyoye in his remarkable statement said that; the success of the program in Sagamu is a signal of what is to come. “We are taking this movement beyond Sagamu. Residents of Ikenne, Remo North, and other parts of Ogun State should be rest assured—help is on the way. This is just the beginning of our first phase. Our goal is to leave no one behind when it comes to quality healthcare access,” he stated.

As the first phase (2 days) of the outreach draws to a close, residents are hopeful that the program will become a continuous effort rather than a one-off event. The outpouring of appreciation from the people has highlighted the urgent need for more health-focused interventions and grassroots-driven solutions.
