Jandor to attend the government debate despite Sanwo-Olu’s withdrawal

People’s Democratic Party candidate for governor of Lagos state, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has agreed to attend the governorship debate being organized for the Lagos candidates.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is seeking re-election under the All Progressives Congress platform, had withdrawn from the debate on security grounds.

But at a world conference held on Saturday, Jandor criticized Sanwo-Olu’s reason for withdrawing from the debate.

Forefront quoted Jandor as saying, “This speaks volumes about Governor Sanwo-Olu as Chief Security Officer of the state as he cannot guarantee his own security.

He added: “It just worries me that a state’s chief security officer says he’s not safe. I am safe and I will go anywhere in Lagos.

“The debate is not curated for me or Sanwo-Olu, it is for people from Lagos State. I will go, he has given me the role of big brother to play.

“I’m going because I want the people of Lagos to listen to me and know what I have to offer. In 2023 they would no longer come.”

Jandor also denounced the series of attacks aimed at his campaign train, as he asked the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to work towards securing the nation ahead of to the general elections.

Jandor’s campaign convoy was attacked in the Aguda area of ​​Surulere Local Government Area of ​​the state on Friday, leaving three injured.

The latest attack is the third attack Jandor’s convoy has experienced in recent days.

His campaign train had been attacked by thugs in Badagry, Ikorodu, Agege, Kosofe and Surulere, injuring some of his followers and destroying vehicles.
