Ikenne State Constituency: Ogun PDP Calls for Calm, Prepares To Appeal Judgement

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has received the judgement passed this morning in suit number FHC/AB/CS/12/2023 at the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta with rude shock.

“To our utmost surprise, the judgment was delivered at a time Nigerians feel the judiciary has gone beyond the era of dispensing justice on technical grounds without diligent recourse to the merit of cases before them.”

Ordinarily, “we expect that all matters slated for judicial intervention would be considered on its merit and core substance. We are however surprised that the presiding judge, Justice Adefunmilola Adekemi Demi-Ajayi, in her own wisdom, chose to rule, not minding the rex of the matter before her but on the procedural technicalities of filing the case by the plaintiffs.”

As a law abiding political organization, “our great party and of course, our legitimate candidate for the Ikenne state constituency, Dr. Sulaimon Adeniye, in consultation with members of our legal team, has decided to proceed on appeal.”

“We have, given our legitimate right to exhaust all legal options available in seeking justice, decided to proceed to appeal court where we except that every substance and issues raised in the matter would be expiditedly considered and ruled upon.”

In the light of this, “we urge all members, friends and supporters of our peace loving party and other members of the public to resist the urge of resorting to self help. This is the time for us, as patriotic and loyal citizens to remain calm and tranquil.”

“The mandate of the good people of Ikenne state constituency has been fairly and freely given to our great party and we are ready, with all vehemence within the armbit of the law to protect and deploy same for the good of the people of Ikenne state constituency.”
