Government to empower women in Nigeria with ₦108 billion.
The Nigeria Government to empower women in Nigeria with ₦108 billion. This was disclosed through Nigeria’s minister for state finance and budget. The minister, Clem Agba explained that this move by the Nigeria government is to address issues related to gender-based violence and facilitate Gender equality.
The minister also noted that Gender based violence can be addressed and reduced when there is gender equality and women empowerment joint intervention which the proposed ₦108 billion will serve as a basket fund. He also initiated that the money will be distributed across various ministries involved in matters which are relating to women.
This comes days after the federal executive Council (FEC) approves a New Women Economic Empowerment Policy. The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Fallen noted that this new Women Empowerment policy will stimulate development in the country.

The minister thanked the President, President Muhammadu Buhari for supporting the policy due to the great impact that women play in the society.
The meeting of the Federal Executive council was held on May 23, 2023. During this meeting, the Federal Executive council approved the Women Economic Empowerment Policy.
