“Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Cabinet Members And The Highest Level Of Irresponsibility On State Of Education.”- A Distress Call
“Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and his cabinet members have shown high level of Irresponsible in the state of Ogun Education. His attitude to governance generally really speaks the mind of many who had presumed that the governor was only brought from somewhere when he had no plans whatsoever to govern the state, hence runs the affairs of the state with no political antecedents and ideology.”
“The cry of many in Ogun State now from civil servants to artisans, market women, street urchins and many more is that ‘We have entered one chance bus already, we pray to God for hitch-free alightment’.”
“Sometimes, we wonder how the governor won his self-acclaimed accolades and awards on education, agriculture, infrastructure and the likes when there is nothing in reality to show for it. How come? This is a question that begs for immediate response from all those who brought him to limelight.”
“One cannot expect something better in governance from such an ill-prepared, ‘owanbe’ governor who finds interest in celebrating birthdays of every Tom, Dick and Harry that focusing on true governance, through fulfilling of campaign promises. This is a government, frankly speaking that publicises or makes an empty barrel noise where nothing is done to show for it. It is this government that would conduct two recruitment exercises with state resources without employing any. We have had enough of this baby governor with his zero political ideology.”
“In recency, there was a release of an article from the media handlers of the state government claiming the recruitment and employment creation of Dapo Abiodun led administration as the number one achievement where reference was made to the noisy Ogunteach.”
“It is on record that this government of the day is not serious about the state of education let alone providing job for the teeming youths and qualified citizens of the state that are looking for job and capable in their different fields and have shown interest times without numbers to be fully engaged as classroom teachers.”
“Just to set the record straight, in the first year of Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Ogun job portal was launched and many citizens registered through the job portal with the hope that through the medium, they are going to gain employment but today, reverse is the case.”
“It was through the portal that subeb recruitment was brought to the public awareness and thousands of graduates applied following rigorous stages screening ranging from online application, CBT exam, to oral interview, all these were done in year 2019/2020.”
“1500 applicants made it to the final oral interview and documentation was also done at the subeb office Oke-Mosan, hoping to be called upon for their appointment letters, the hope of the 1500 succesful candidates were just shattered by this *I don’t care government of Ogun State* so far with flimsy excuses ranging from paucity of funds to engaging contract Teaching Staff to be based on stipends when other states are recruiting on permanent basis straightforward. My question is who packaged disaster for us as a responsible person, ‘Omo Baba Tisa for that matter’.”
That’s how the hope of Ogun 1500 candidates was dashed out till today.
“Many states had successfully employed teachers for both primary and secondary schools for their respective states within the shortest period they assumed offices. Oyo State for instance with little they’re getting as IGR compared to Ogun State, Gov. Seyi Makinde had employed nothing less than 7000 Teaching Staff and 2000 Non Teaching Staff despite he started the recruitment process far behind Ogun State, this is the governor that shows non-challant attitude to education of his state and the Lagos State is on the second round of employment of teachers which is almost concluded, the Sanwo-Olu he copies.”
“The yellow roofings we are seeing in some public schools are not in the best interest of the students of Ogun State or the general public but to compensate his friends in politics who contributed immensely to his masquerade enmacipation as Ogun State governor, where contracts were awarded to his cronies and these works were done with substandard materials.”
“The recent development in Imeko-Afon Nazareth High School is a typical displays of Irresponsibility of this present government of the day with the way the state education is being ruined , Arigbabu with his ministry that have never for once, step forward to visit any of the schools in LG since he came on board but could go to Imeko when casualty was recorded.”
The question begging for answer is must we die before government takes action?
“The Arigbabu devilish leadership in Education Sector of the state is adding to the present hardship he met on ground. Immediately he emerged as the Commissioner for Education, he cancelled the ever farest and transparent subeb recruitment he met on ground and brought in Ogunteach that was launched in March this year with different irregularities ranging from unconventional portal that he opened for the interested applicants, destructive CBT exam that was conducted and the useless interview for the applicants that scored above 53%. One thing that may interest you is the discrepancy in the total number of candidates to be employed for Ogun teach. While the Commissioner for Education under whose ministry supervised the recruitment exercise announced 5,000 candidates, the Subeb boss insists on 4,000, candidates. This shows the level of misplaced priority given to these sets of people under a breast feeding governor.”
“A sane mind that followed the processes of the noisy Ogunteach would have concluded and asked that who is indeed in Charge of Ogun State Ministry of Education? The whole processes were filled up with series of abnormalities till present date.”
“And also, it was in the first week of resumption that the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu was on air giving another excuse of redistribution of teachers that is ongoing presently in the public schools as what is delaying the posting of interns that made it through Ogunteach to their various place of primary assignment.”
“Come to think of it, the public schools in the state both the primary and secondary schools, are in dire need of teachers, schools were in holiday for weeks but they don’t plan and implement redistribution of teachers then and to meet up and fill the the interns to the existing vacancies in our various schools till present day of three weeks of resumption.”
Now, governor is not available, deputy governor is no where to be found, so also the speaker of the house of assembly.
“What a Gbantueyo Government and Governor!”
Ogun State is in serious mess on the state of Education- Save our Soul.
