#FreeLabash: Timeline Of Ogun Based Journalist, Lahbash 120 Days In Detention

Ogun Base citizen Journalist, Bashiru Hammed Adewale Olamilekan was abducted inside conference hotel, in a Gestapo-style in Abeokuta by heavily armed operatives of the DSS.

Since then, he has been in detention, charged to court, granted stringent bail as a way to still keep him in captive.

Lahbash was charged with cybercrime offence for exposing the government of the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his past alleged criminal offence.

Below here is a timeline of Lahbash’s treatment by the Ogun State government for the past 120 Days:

April 29: Ogun Base citizen Journalist, Bashiru Hammed Adewale Olamilekan, popularly known as Prince Lahbash was abducted, Gestapo-style in Abeokuta by heavily armed operatives of the DSS.

April 29: Lahbash was tied down for ten hours (10hrs) by the State DSS in their custody in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at opposite governor’s office.

April 29: He was forced in their office to pull down the publication after two hours (2hrs) of interrogations, and was instructed to sign undertaking with rejoinder which he did.

April 29: The founder of Eaglesforesight was given an administrative bail of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) cash with a civil servant surety. He was further instructed to always make himself available whenever his attention is needed.

May 4: Prince Lahbash was reinvited for the second time, which he was led to the DSS custody with his surety and the Special adviser to the Ogun State governor on special duties, Mr Nurudeen Adewale popularly known as omo gomina (AKA).

May 13: He was reinvited for the third time, detained and transferred to the police headquarters of the state at Eleweeran in abeokuta.

May 23: Bashiru Hammed Adewale Olamilekan was arraigned to Federal High Court, Oke-Mosan and pushed to Ibara Correctional Center on the same day.

June 6: Lahbash lawyer, Festus Ogun pleaded for his client bail and was granted.

June 7: Hearing of the case commenced, while his first complaint, Ola Muritala, the special adviser to Ogun State governor on media and news appears to prosecute him. The case was adjourned till July 19.

July 19: The founder and Publisher of Eaglesforesight, Bashiru Hammed Adewale Olamilekan appeared before the court of Law, as the case was adjourned till October 6.

July 23: Lahbash was allegedly reported to his family that he fainted and admitted for three days before he was discharged back to the prison cell.

August 20: Lahbash spent 100 days in detention.

September 9: Lahbash 120 Days In Ibara Correctional Center and hoping to appear before the court of law by October 6, 2022.
