Folarin promises 2 million votes for Tinubu in Oyo
Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, secured the party’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a landslide victory by more than 2 million votes in Oyo State at the presidential elections on February 25.
Folarin made this known while fielding questions from journalists on a guest forum tagged “Speak Out” hosted by the Correspondents Chapel of the State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo in Ibadan.
He said Tinubu has the experience and resources to reposition the economy and free the oppressed masses from the shackles of poverty.
The meeting included some of the APC leaders in the state including; Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, Alhaji Sina Alabi and President of the Chapel, Raji Adebayo.
Given the network Tinubu has built over the years across the country, Folarin said he is optimistic to win not only in Oyo state, but in the 36 states of the federation, emphasizing that with his experience and relationship with all political parties in the state, he (Folarin) is also confident in becoming the next governor of the state.
He claimed that all necessary arrangements have been made to successfully hold the presidential campaign rally in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, scheduled for January 7, 2023.
He then urged party members, loyalists and supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come out en masse to express their love for the former governor of Lagos State.
According to him, “We have 3.3 million registered voters in Oyo state, we know that Asiwaju will win and we are looking for ways to maximize profits. people, we are convinced that we will get more than 2 million votes.
“Of course the presidential election will be different from the governorship, our projection is that Asiwaju will get 80% of the vote in Oyo state, therefore all we have done is consistently over 80%.
“We sometimes draw a thousand people every day, but we’ve also been scientific, we get a figure between 830 and 840 every day, you can give a three percent margin of error, that’s still consistent with our projection.
“The members of the National Assembly will set the projection, they will win, if they win, I will come back here and discuss the way forward for the governorship elections, which I am sure I will win too”.
Earlier in his welcome address, the President of the State Correspondents’ Chapel, Raji Adebayo, explained that the guest forum was part of his campaign pledges to make the chapel robust and vibrant.
According to him, “Today is a fulfillment of one of the promises made when I campaigned that I will make the Correspondents Chapel grand and vibrant with the caliber of people who would appear on our guest forum, and here we are, the APC guber candidate is , and we are working hard to offer our Speak Out program to other candidates.
