Facts Checked: Achievements Of Rep Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga Ijaya, 3 Years Plus In The House of Reps

The Restoration mantra upon which Rep (Otunba) Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga rode upon to secure the Remo House of Reps seat some 3 years back has not be found wanting. It has been years of a robustfull representation of quality project delivery and vibrant vibration on the floor of the green chamber championing the noble cause of the people whose mandate she’s representing.

However, in all of these years, Rep Onanuga who is a first termer in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly has deployed skills such as; humility, lobbying, intelligence etc to magnetize projects to the constituency. Some of these projects were statutory and some are courtesy of her personal efforts.

THE PROJECTS FACILITATED BY HON ORIYOMI ADEWUNMI ONANUGA IN REMO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY:

– Construction of Block of 3 classrooms at St. Paul African Bethel School in Ilishan, Ikenne LG (Completed).

– 2 Blocks of 3 Classrooms in Iraye Community High School, Sagamu LG (Completed).

– Supply of 500KVA transformers in:

I. Ilishan

II. Ogijo

III. Imushin

– Facilitation of the use of the Primary Health Centre in Iraye, Sagamu LG (Completed).

– Construction of 1km road Emuren, Sagamu LG (On going).

– Construction of 2km road in Ewuga, Sagamu LG (On going).

– Block of 2 Classrooms at Ogijo Community High School, Sagamu LG (Completed).

– Facilitation of the maintenance of Fidiwo Bridge, Orile Oko, Remo North LG, awarded by Federal Ministry of works (Ongoing).

– Provision of Solar lights (Phase 2) to Motor parks, Epe, Oko, Apele, Ita-Sanni, Aiyepe Junction etc.

– Phase 1 and 2 Rural Electrification of Orile Oko and Environs, Remo North LG (Phase 1 Completed, Phase 2 to start in june).

– Construction of Maternity Centre in Akofa, Remo North LG (Completed).

– Construction of Maternity Centre in Irolu (completed)

– 1 Block of 6 Classrooms in Makun High School, Sagamu LG (Completed).

– 40 Beds Primary Health Centre in Ibelefun Community, Sagamu, Sagamu LG (Ongoing).

MOTIONS:

1. ON THE NEED TO ENFORCE MANDATORY REGULATORY COMPLIANCE FOR THE INCLUSION OF HEALTH, DIETARY AND SAFETY INFORMATION ON CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED IN, AND/OR IMPORTED INTO THE COUNTRY.

2. SARS REFORM: STRICTER DISCIPLINARY MEASURES INTO THE OPERATIONS OF THE TACTICAL SQUADS IN THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE.

3. A MOTION ON MATTER OF URGENT IMPORTANCE ON THE REHABILITATION OF OGIJO SAGAMU ROAD A1 HIGHWAY.

4. NEED TO RECOGNIZE A HEROIC ACT DURING THE PIPELINE EXPLOSION IN ABULE ADO COMMUNITY.

5. THE NEED TO ENCOURAGE NATIONAL INCLUSION AND INTEGRATION THROUGH EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS.

6. ON THE NEED TO INVESTIGATE AND ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE COMPULSORY, FREE UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION ACT 2004.

7. A MOTION OF URGENT IMPORTANCE IN COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN, 2021.

8. MOTION OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE ON THE DEVASTATING FIRE OUTBREAK THAT ENGULF SABO MARKET, SAGAMU L.G.A ON TUESDAY JAN. 28TH, 2020.

9. A MOTION ON IMPROVING THE MENSTRUAL HYGIENE OF WOMEN AND GIRLS PRAYING THAT TAX BE REMOVED ON FEMININE PRODUCTS E.G SANITARY PADS, REDUCTION IN SANITARY PAD PRICE AND FREE DISTRIBUTION OF PADS IN SCHOOLS.

10. MOTION FOR CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT, THAT THE RIGHT GIVEN TO GOVERNORS AND PRESIDENT ON HOUSE PROMULGATION BE EXPUNGED TOTALLY.

BILLS:

1. The bill for an act to establish an Ecological Fund Management Board/Agency/Commission and Related Matters.

2. The bill for an act to establish a National Metallurgical Training Institute in Sagamu, Ogun State, its organisation, management and related matters.

3. A bill for an act to alter the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) to change the educational qualification for election into certain political offices and for related matters.

4. Bill for the establishment of Federal University of Science and Technology, Remo (FUSTRO).

TRAINING, HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT

Training And Human Capital Development:

1. Training and empowerment of youths on citrus, plantain/banana value chain in NIHORT Ibadan.

2. Training and empowerment of youths in Snail farming in Ibadan.

3. Graduate entrepreneurship training.

4. Training and empowerment of women in Snail farming.

5. Training and empowerment of youths in digital markerting and photography making.
