Nigerians have come out across the nation to hit the streets massively as they protests #EndBadGovernance, hunger and economic hardship under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Eaglesforesight gathered that human rights lawyers; Femi Falana, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, Deji Adeyanju; former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, the Take It Back movement and many others called for a nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance in the country.

The group tagged the protest, “Days of Rage” which it said would hold nationwide from August 1 to 10.

Protesters have reportedly blocked the flow of free movement at the Suleja axis of the Abuja-Kaduna highway in Niger state.

The Eaglesforesight learnt that hundreds of travellers are currently stranded due to a section of the road being blocked by the protesters.

An Abuja resident, identified as Abubakar Ibrahim, in an interview with Daily Trust, lamented over his inability travel to his home state of Kaduna.

According to Ibrahim, the vehicle he boarded around 11:40 am on Thursday, had spent over two hours around Gauraka junction.

Protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State have fled as security forces fired teargas to disperse them.

The protest is occurring under tight security surveillance, with officers from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and other units strategically positioned around the toll gate.

A security official instructed the protesters to relocate to designated protest areas. When the protesters refused, the police responded with tear gas to scatter the crowd.

Day 1 of the protest didn’t accommodate protesters in Sagamu, Ikenne and Remo North Local Government, with the presence of heavy securities and the supports and cooperations of the Sagamu Youth Association in collaboration with Remo Youth Association.

Meanwhile, no fewer than six protesters has been Reportedly shot dead at Niger State.
