Empathy, Fairness, And Political Justice: Why Offin Should Complete Ijaya’s Tenure – Prince Lahbash

As a firm believer in justice, fairness, and political balance, Bashiru Hammed Adewale (Prince Lahbash), strongly advocate that Offin should be given the mandate to complete the Remo Federal Constituency tenure of the late Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya) at the House of Representatives…
Have you ever found yourself saying, “Just get over it and move on”? Or perhaps you’ve judged someone for not being able to shake off their pain? We’ve all been there. But the truth is, we can never truly understand someone’s pain until we’ve walked in their shoes.
Compassion is about putting ourselves in someone else’s perspective and trying to feel what they feel. It’s about acknowledging that their pain is real, even if we can’t see it. This principle applies not just to personal struggles but also to political transitions, especially when a leader is lost unexpectedly. As a firm believer in justice, fairness, and political balance, I, Bashiru Hammed Adewale (Prince Lahbash), strongly advocate that Offin should be given the mandate to complete the tenure of the late Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya) at the House of Representatives.
Ijaya’s passing was a tragic loss to Remo and Ogun State. She served with dedication, and her contributions to her constituency cannot be forgotten. However, beyond mourning her departure, we must now face the reality of succession. The right and just path forward is to allow Offin to complete the tenure, ensuring that the principle of political fairness is maintained.
Political representation in Remo has always been guided by a deep-rooted understanding of zoning and balance. Ijaya’s tenure represented Makun’s slot in leadership. Now that fate has cut her journey short, it is only right that Offin steps in to fill the vacuum rather than allowing an imbalance that could disrupt the existing political arrangement. Denying Offin this opportunity would not only be unfair but would also undermine the trust we have built in our political system.

This is not about personal ambition—it is about justice and ensuring that all communities within Remo feel equally represented. Just as we extend kindness and understanding to those grieving personal losses, we must also extend fairness in governance by respecting political agreements. Offin is not asking for a favor; they are asking for what is rightfully theirs.
I have always stood for fairness, and I will continue to do so. If we truly want a united and progressive Remo, we must stand for justice and uphold the principles that ensure every community gets its fair share of representation. Everyone’s pain is unique, and it’s up to us to create a fair and balanced political space where no one feels left behind.
Let’s make a conscious effort to be more empathetic in giving this mandate to Offin. Let’s listen without judgment, support without conditions, and act with integrity. The legacy of Ijaya deserves continuity, and Offin is the rightful custodian of that legacy.
Fairness is the foundation of strong leadership, and it begins with honoring our commitments. I, Prince Lahbash, firmly stand with Offin, and I call on all just-minded individuals to do the same. Let’s do what is right—because justice must always prevail.
