Election: Voters Protest Non-Availability Of Electoral Materials, INEC Officials In Plateau Community
Eaglesforesight correspondent gathered that as of about 12 noon, there were no materials or Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials at the unit.
One of the angry protesters, Emmanuel Dung said they were out as early as 5:30am to exercise their civic right but INEC was yet to arrive at noon.
Dung expressed concern that the materials were yet to reach their polling unit for an election that was supposed to stop by 2pm.
He called on INEC to make sure that none of the voters in the unit are disenfranchised.

Meantime, Sen. Istifanus Gyang (PDP/Plateau North) who addressed the protesters, appealed to them to be calm.
Gyang promised to immediately reach out to INEC on their behalf.
However, when contacted, INEC Spokesman, Michael Otokopa said the commission would immediately address the issue.
According to him, “I will call the electoral officer in charge of Barkin Ladi to find out what happened and also address it immediately”.
