EFCC Denies Arrest Of Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, Reaffirms He’s Still Wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied recent reports claiming that former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is in their custody.
In an official statement released on Wednesday by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the commission confirmed that while Bello had been declared wanted on charges of laundering N80.2 billion, he remains at large.
“Contrary to media reports, Yahaya Bello is not in our holding facility. He is still wanted, and the warrant for his arrest is valid,” the statement emphasized.

The EFCC had previously made several unsuccessful attempts to arrest the former governor regarding the alleged laundering case, leading to his declaration as wanted.
