Edo: Adams Oshiomhole Clears APC Of Involvement In PDP’s Crisis, Calls for Respect Of Party Autonomy
In a recent press conference, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), categorically denied any involvement by his party in the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State.
The crisis stems from the nullification of the PDP’s primary election by a federal high court, which cited the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates.
Oshiomhole emphasized that the APC respects the autonomy of other political parties and has no interest in meddling in their internal affairs.

He stressed that the law explicitly prohibits one party from interfering in another party’s internal conflicts, and any claims of APC involvement are baseless.
The senator also highlighted the long-standing divisions within the PDP, which have been exacerbated by the recent crisis. He noted that the PDP’s “legacy group” has been at odds with the party’s leadership, alleging exclusion and marginalization.
Oshiomhole’s comments suggest that the PDP’s internal struggles are a result of their own actions, rather than any external interference.
By distancing the APC from the PDP’s crisis, Oshiomhole’s statement aims to reassure the public of his party’s commitment to respecting the autonomy of other political parties. The development also underscores the need for political parties to adhere to the rule of law and respect the rights of their members, in order to maintain stability and trust in Nigeria’s political landscape.
