Dr. Yetunde Akinluyi Seeks Royal Blessings From Akarigbo, Elepe of Epe, For Remo Federal Constituency Bid

Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Akinluyi Olasimbo, popularly known as Ọmọ Awokoya, in a significant endorsement that highlights the growing momentum behind her political ambition has seeked royal blessings from His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land and HRH Oba Adewale Osiberu the Elepe of Epe, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025. The symbolic royal audience, which took place at the Akarigbo’s Palace, underscores the cultural legitimacy and moral encouragement bestowed upon her aspiration to represent the Remo Federal Constituency at the national level.

During her address to the monarch, Dr. Akinluyi presented a broad vision for the holistic transformation of the Remo Federal Constituency. She emphasized strategic developmental goals anchored on youth empowerment, sustainable infrastructure, and the attraction of local and international investment opportunities. Her credentials include a notable stint as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State in 2007, where she oversaw matters related to Free Zones and Export Processing Zones. In that role, she championed investment attraction strategies and formulated policies that strengthened Lagos State’s position as an economic powerhouse. Between 2007 and 2011, she also served as General Manager of Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited, where she led the operational and strategic development of the Lekki Free Trade Zone—facilitating bilateral partnerships, championing corporate social responsibility projects, and driving meaningful engagement with host communities and stakeholders.

Her earlier experience as Senior Special Assistant in the Lagos State Ministry of Housing (2003–2006) allowed her to engage in chieftaincy and boundary matters, as well as community relations—skills she now plans to translate into community-driven governance in Remo.

Over the years, she has remained an influential figure in campaign strategy and grassroots mobilization, serving as a member of the Independent Campaign Group (ICG) and Independent Campaign Council (ICC) in various leadership capacities. Her recent position as Deputy Director in the ICC for the 2023 Presidential Campaign is a testament to her continued relevance and deep-rooted connections within Nigeria’s political landscape.
