Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda Pays Tribute To Late President Buhari, Hails His Legacy Of Integrity And Patriotism

As the nation mourns the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, tributes continue to pour in from across the country and beyond. Among those who have expressed heartfelt condolences is Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, a respected Board Member of the International Council of Women and President of the Africa League of Women Voters.
In her condolence message addressed to the former First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Buhari, and the entire Buhari family, Dr. Shoda described the late President as “a symbol of discipline, integrity, and unwavering patriotism.”

“President Buhari dedicated the better part of his life to serving our great nation with courage, conviction, and clarity of purpose,” she said. “His legacy of anti-corruption, infrastructural development, and commitment to national unity will forever be remembered.”
Dr. Shoda, a vocal advocate for women’s leadership across the African continent, said the former president’s life and leadership left a significant mark on the continent. “On behalf of the International Council of Women and the Africa League of Women Voters, and countless women who respected and admired him, I pay tribute to a man whose leadership deeply impacted Nigeria and inspired Africa.”
She also commended Dr. Aisha Buhari for her strength and support throughout her husband’s political journey, describing her as “a pillar of grace and resilience.”
Dr. Shoda concluded her tribute with prayers for the repose of the late President’s soul and comfort for the family. “May the gentle soul of President Muhammadu Buhari rest in perfect peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to the nation he so passionately served.”
President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s former military ruler (1983–1985) and democratically elected leader (2015–2023), passed away after a period of illness. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and an enduring legacy of service.
