Disclaimer: Remo North LGA Candidature, I told Dapo Odunsi to congratulate me.-Alhaji (Dr.) Olamilekan Yinnus Bashiru
My attention has been drawn to one misleading information being circulated in the media by Akinlolu Awosanya; ACCOMORAN Public Relation Officer being used by his paymaster to cause division at Remo North, that reconciliation meeting was held in Remo North LGA, which is far from the truth, and nothing but a fabricated lie. He does not even have a stand to speak on behalf or for the party at the LGA level, which reestablishes that he was planted to cause crisis in the party system.
You will remember that he was planted to humiliate and did physically harass the honourable house of assembly member some weeks ago by the same ACCOMORAN State executive, Akinlolu Awosanya. On the contrary, we have stood firm and focused in my community and camp, without causing crisis or embarrassment.
The party chairman E. S. Odeyemi called it a meeting of the chairmanship aspirants. And the formation of the meeting was just about 5% of those who form the concessors. Why were others excluded if the meeting was truly for reconciliation? I still have the chat of the party chairman which may eventually form a further basis if this deceitful and malicious release is not withdrawn from the media with immediate effect. It establishes the claims by other APC members that they are working against the progress of our governor.
It is regrettable to see how politics is being played within a very small space all in the name of bread and butter. I just feel so ashamed of those who have filled the field at the Remo North Political space. The governor and the state leadership need to rise quickly and call them order before they deface the party further.
All Akinlolu and his master is doing is to deliver the plot of his paymaster and deceive the governor and the party people with unfounded rumour as sent by his supposed political godfather.
I have heard of the reason why the arrowhead of their group said he could not afford to stay out of politics for 4 years, which was why he decamped back to the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) in less than 3 days before the gubernatorial elections back then in the year 2019. While I have remained all-time with the party without wavering.
THE REALITY
A meeting of the aspirants was called by the party leaders as told me by E. S. Odeyemi to hold at the APC Party Secretariat and I honoured them by attending. At the meeting, the issue of congratulating one of the aspirants came up, which I personally opposed, declined, and made a clear, loud voice that a decision was not yet taken and the contest for the party ticket is still much on. As a matter of fact, I told them all at the meeting that all other aspirants including Dapo Odunsi will soon visit me at my residence to congratulate me in no distant time.
Right after this, I took my leave, only for one of the leaders to ask us all to take pictures, which I originally turned down. But after much pressure and undue uproar by the party leaders, I regarded their persuasions and took a group picture before finally stepping out. To make it noticeably clear to the public, they all had to rush out of the venue of the meeting to join me because I stepped out of the room first in displeasure.
The respect I accorded the party leaders are being taken for granted and I have put a call to Alhaji Yusuf Asiru who is also from my town, and a major voice that appealed to me for the picture, immediately I saw the article ahead of this disclaimer. He appeared to have felt bitter about the confusing information being circulated and has promised to ensure that the whole thing is retracted from the media.
They are an instrument of confusion that is focused at misleading the public and the state party leadership with unfounded and fake news, in the name of food politics.
They are desperate not because they have good intentions to better the LGA economy or lifestyle of its people. They are struggling hard to get the party ticket by all means so that they can milk the resources that come across the government at this level.
In terms of experience and qualification, none of the aspirants can match up with me. I am in this race because of my interest to sincerely change the face of Remo North LGA and improve the economy of the area. I challenge any of the aspirants to a debate if that is what it takes to prove our worth, instead of this cheap media deceit and misinformation.
And for this act of weakness and betrayal, I will no longer honour any political gathering that will involve any of the aspirants.
I am confident that the governor desires what is best for the state at all LGAs and he will support capable hands to complement his efforts in building the future of the Ogun State, and not mediocre.Disclaimer: Remo North LGA Candidature, I told Dapo Odunsi to congratulate me – Alhaji (Dr.) Olamilekan Yinnus Bashiru
