Comrade Joseph Ogunleye (Freshness) Mourns The Passing Of Iconic ‘Cash Madam,’ Alhaja Khadijah Adebisi
The Ogun State community has been thrown into mourning following the demise of Alhaja (Chief) Mrs. Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), fondly known as “Cash Madam”, on the night of January 5, 2025, at the age of 89.
Alhaja Edionseri, the Iya Sunnah of Yewaland, Egbaland, and Ogun State, was celebrated as a matriarch of exceptional selflessness and unwavering dedication to the betterment of her community. A towering figure in Ogun State, her compassionate nature and charitable works earned her a place in the hearts of many. Her death marks the end of an era and leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew her.
In an emotional tribute, Comrade (Hon.) Joseph Olu Ogunleye, popularly known as Freshness, expressed his heartfelt condolences to Otunba Abayomi Odunowo (Yomi Cash) and the bereaved family. Ogunleye described the late Alhaja Edionseri as “a pillar of strength, a beacon of hope, and a loving mother to all.”
“Her altruistic nature and tireless commitment to the well-being of others have left an indelible mark on countless lives. Her departure is a great loss, but her legacy will forever inspire us. I extend my deepest sympathies to Otunba Yomi Cash and the entire family, praying for Mama’s soul to rest in perfect peace,” Ogunleye stated.
In addition to her philanthropic works, Alhaja Edionseri was a unifying figure who prioritized peace and harmony across communities. Her leadership as the Iya Sunnah brought about transformative impacts that strengthened cultural and religious ties in Ogun State.

“Her life was one of purpose and service. She embodied the values of love, humility, and sacrifice, which are rare to find. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate the countless lives she touched and the enduring inspiration she has left us,” he said.
