Commission DG inspects lottery facility ahead of national games

The Director General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Lanre Gbajabiamila, visited the National Lottery Nigeria in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Tuesday.

Gbajabiamila’s visit was to inspect the facility ahead of the country’s National Games.

The visit was intended to provide an insight into the company’s activities, its commitment to responsible gaming and to demonstrate the government’s commitment to the development of the NLN.

The DG was welcomed by NLN General Manager, Layi Onafowokan, who took him on a tour of their facilities, including their state-of-the-art digital lottery systems, security measures and customer service.

During his speech, Gbajabiamila expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the preparation of the facilities and urged the staff to remain focused on the task ahead. He stated that the NLRC would continue to work with the Nigeria National Lottery to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and integrity.

According to him, the NLRC is confident that the Nigerian National Lottery will make an important contribution to economic growth and development in Nigeria. Therefore, the NLRC is committed to ensuring that the national game is well regulated and meets international standards. He emphasized that they were looking forward to the successful launch of the National Game.

Gbajabiamila said, “It was a privilege to visit the National Lottery of Nigeria today. The company’s commitment to responsible gambling, ethical business practices and transparency is commendable and serves as a model for the lottery industry. I appreciate National Lottery Nigeria’s efforts to contribute to the country’s revenue, and I look forward to working together to ensure that the lottery industry continues to thrive and serve Nigeria.”

He also held a discussion with the management team, praising their contributions and dedication to creating jobs and economic opportunities in the community.

Onafowokan expressed the NLN’s dedication to the success of the national competition. He also expressed his appreciation to the NLRC for the support and guidance they had been offered.

He said: “We also want to reassure you that what we are doing today will generally benefit Nigerians economically. We guarantee that the games we offer will change people’s lives and we will ensure responsible gaming.

In addition, we will support various initiatives in the field of sports, education and health. These are of utmost importance to the Nigerian people and we will support these causes. Again, we appreciate you for this courtesy call. You can rest assured that the National Lottery Nigeria will launch the National Games very soon.”

Onafowokan added: “We are honored that Gbajabiamila is visiting us today. This visit demonstrates the importance the government attaches to the lottery industry and its impact on the local economy.
