It was fun all the way for old classmates of the Akarigbo of Remo-land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi who celebrated the appointment of the paramount ruler as Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum, Efunrun, Delta State
The colourful gathering at the Inner Chamber, Akarigbo’s Palace, Sagamu, Ogun State, brought together His Imperial Majesty’s set at the prestigious Remo Secondary School Sagamu as they rolled out the drum in appreciation of the appointment of one of their own
Appreciating the unique receiption in his honour ,the highly elated Akarigbo assured his colleagues and the people of Remoland that he would not disappoint them, but would continue to work with passion, diligence and without fear or favour for the betterment of the land and the State in general.
Oba Ajayi at the reception put together by his colleagues, the 73/78 Royal Class Set of Remo Secondary School (RSS), says his resolve as the Akarigbo of Remoland is to take Remo to heights that couldn’t be imagined, acknowledging that this would be the first time an Akarigbo would be appointed a Chancellor of a federal university
“Always put in effort to be the best wherever you find yourselves, as this goes a long way to showcase the stuffs we are made-up of in Remoland, for better placement in the society. I promise never to let you down in harnessing the opportunities embedded in the appointment”, the Monarch assured.
The Akarigbo of Remoland lauded the Royal Class set for the honour bestowed on him, urging them to keep the school flag flying and continue to contribute to the development of Remoland and its environs.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of Service, who doubles as the President of the set, Alhaja Selimot Ottun congratulated the monarch on the appointment, saying it’s an honour well deserved.
Alhaja Ottun appreciated God for keeping the set together and making them to excel in their various fields of endeavor, reiterating their support for the advancement of Remoland.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Chairman, Remo Growth and Development Foundation, Otunba Tunji Solarin, a Commissioner in the Federal Civil Service and retired Head of Service, Ogun State, Princess Iyabode Odulate, a Son of the Soil, Colonel Emmanuel Shoda (Rtd.) and the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Ogun State, Justice Mobolaji Ojo extoled the Royal Set for celebrating the Akarigbo, praying for God’s continued wisdom, strength and blessings to move Remoland forward.
Dignitaries at the reception were serving and retired Permanent Secretaries from the Civil Service, including Mr. Olumide Sotubo, Mr. Moses Adebayo, Alhaji Abdulfatai Ogunlana, Dr. (Mrs.) Ranti Oladeinde, Hon. Justice Yetunde Oresanya, Mrs. Modupe Bosede, Royal Fathers, members of the Royal Set including the Special Adviser, Ogun State Waste Management Authority, Mr. Ola Oresanya, among others
