CIPM Unveils New Executives For Remo & Ijebu Newly Inaugurated Chapter, Sets Bold Agenda For HR Excellence In Ogun

In a bid to deepen professionalism in Human Resource (HR) practice and promote ethical leadership in the workplace, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has inaugurated a new chapter, and unveils pioneer executives for its Remo and Ijebu Chapter.
The colorful ceremony, held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Hilltop Hotel, Sagamu, brought together top HR professionals, industry stakeholders, and emerging practitioners from across Ogun State.
The CIPM, established by an Act of Parliament (CAP C7 LFN 2004), is the statutory body responsible for regulating and advancing HR practice in Nigeria. Its mandate includes setting knowledge standards, issuing certifications, and driving ethical human capital management across all sectors.
The newly established chapter is expected to serve as a regional hub for promoting global best practices in people management, talent development, and workplace ethics.

Speaking during his acceptance speech, the Chapter Chairman, Prince Adebayo Akinde, described the inauguration as a “new chapter for HR excellence in Remo and Ijebu land.”
“We are committed to positioning this chapter as a center of HR innovation, professional development, and ethical workplace transformation in Ogun State,” Adebayo said.
He added that the chapter would serve as a strategic extension of CIPM’s national vision, fostering a professional culture grounded in integrity, empathy, and impactful leadership.
“The establishment of this chapter signals a turning point in the HR landscape of our region. It’s not just a structural expansion—it’s a movement aimed at aligning our professionals with global standards,” he emphasized.
One of the key highlights of the event was the induction of 30 new CIPM members, reinforcing the growing appetite for certified HR practice in the region. The chapter also revealed that 70 additional professionals are currently undergoing the certification process, indicating a surge in interest from aspiring HR practitioners.
Stakeholders at the event praised the initiative as timely and strategic, given the rising demand for well-grounded HR professionals in today’s dynamic work environment.

Adding prestige to the occasion was the esteemed presence of traditional rulers, including: HRH Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, the Ologijo of Ogijo and HRH Oba Solomon Adegboyega Oguntade, Orimadegun I of Araromi, Sagamu. The royal fathers commended the efforts of CIPM in professionalizing people management and pledged their support toward fostering development and capacity-building initiatives within their domains.
Also present at the event was the State Chairperson of CIPM Ogun Chapter, Mrs. Oladunni Olusola Adetona, who lauded the emergence of the Remo & Ijebu Chapter as a strategic expansion that will uplift HR standards across the state. The Spiritual Father of the Day, Pastor Joseph Bello of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ogun Province 5, Sagamu, commended the institute for its crucial role in national human capacity development and offered prayers for the new executives.
The event also featured a special award ceremony recognizing individuals and organizations who have contributed immensely to the growth of CIPM. Among those honoured was Engr. Sean Olabode Badiru, immediate past Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter, whose relentless efforts were instrumental in the establishment of the new chapter. Corporate sponsors and supporters who provided financial backing were also appreciated with awards of recognition, underscoring the collaborative spirit that birthed the successful launch.
The Remo & Ijebu Chapter is expected to host regular capacity-building workshops, HR forums, and community-focused initiatives aimed at nurturing talent and promoting sustainable business practices in Ogun State and beyond.
