Campaign Promises For Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon Adeniji: Bringing Government Closer To The People

In preparation for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Ogun State, Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon Adeniji has promised to bring Government closer to the people in his campaign manifesto.

Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Odeda Local Government Chairmanship candidate has in his 7 key agendas assures his constituents dividend of democracy.

“I must inform my fellow Odeda local government members of the issues my administration plans to take on if I win the upcoming election, as I have since declared my interest in running to be the next chairman of the Odeda local government.”

“ Local government, as we all know, is the third tier of government; we are more in touch with the public than the executive branch and have a greater understanding of their predicament. I’ll be talking about the issues that this local government’s administration plans to resolve.”

1. Enhance Community Engagement with Feedback Mechanism: As we are all aware the government helps to bring governance closer to the people, Establishing regular town hall meetings and community forums to ensure transparent communication between the local government and the residents, These meetings will address community concerns, provide updates on local projects, and gather future initiatives. For example, by using a hybrid mix of online and offline techniques, it’s possible to reach people who have different time schedules, commitments, abilities, and levels of digital literacy. Local governments can also engage citizens who live and work in a variety of locations. Feedback Mechanism Ensure that people feel safe to share their feedback. My administration will also share important information widely before, during, and after projects. Increase the community’s sense of ownership over the outcomes by being transparent.

2. Local infrastructure development: My administration will prioritize the repair and maintenance of the local roads, bridges, and public facilities, invest in improving sustainable street lights projects and sanitization services to enhance the quality of life in our communities as we all know that health is wealth, Sadly, the road infrastructures are in a state of dilemma particularly the Local government roads due to so many constraints.

3. Support for Agriculture and Rural Development: Here is another area Odeda local government is not advantageous, which also Distinguished this local government from all other 19 local governments in Ogun state. Odeda local government has an extensive landmass, mostly grass; the vegetation of the Local Government is mainly Orchard and thick grasses. Thus, the land is suitable for agriculture and livestock rearing; my administration will be tapping into Agriculture by implementing programs to support local farmers, including access to modern techniques, tools, and resources. Promote rural development projects to enhance living conditions and economic opportunities in farming communities.

4. Social welfare initiatives: My administration will prioritize and strengthen social welfare programs to support the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable members; I will implement community-based support services and ensure the effective and equitable distribution of welfare resources.

5 Environmental protection: My administration will launch community clean-up campaigns #KeepOdedaClean to support sustainable practices and work towards creating green spaces to enhance the environmental health of Odeda local government.

6 Safety and security: As we all know, security is a responsibility of everyone. My Administration will collaborate with local security agencies to improve safety and reduce crime rates, as well as establish neighborhood watch programs and ensure timely responses to security concerns.

7. Real-time Evaluation of Proposed plans above to track implementations and ensure delivery of mandates for the LGA

“All thanks to the Supreme Court judgment that helped to resuscitate the 3rd tier of government, giving autonomy to the local government and making them free from state control, this new development will assist my administration in implementing everything I have said above and will aid smooth execution of these.”
