Former Ogun State legislator and legal practitioner, Barrister Oluwaseyi Lambo Solomon Osho, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Remo Federal Constituency seat in the upcoming National Assembly by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Osho, who represented Remo North in the Ogun State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2023, made his declaration public through a press statement obtained by The Eaglesforesight correspondent on Thursday. He cited his solid background in legislative processes and legal affairs as his major strengths, pledging to offer credible and purposeful representation if elected.

“I have been thoroughly prepared for the responsibility ahead, and I will hit the ground running from day one if elected,” Osho said. “The National Assembly deserves individuals with depth, experience, and a clear understanding of lawmaking—not beginners learning on the job.”

He further underscored that legislative responsibilities require more than popularity or ambition, but a blend of experience, vision, and competence.

“This is not the time for guesswork in governance. My record as a former House of Assembly member and council leader speaks to my capacity. I believe Remo deserves tested hands, not trial-and-error.”

Quoting former Vice President and Remo-born statesman, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Osho remarked: “You cannot wish this country well and vote for someone you do not believe in.”

The lawyer-turned-politician, who hails from Isale-Agbowa in Makun, Sagamu, and whose mother is from Isara-Remo, stressed the importance of electing a candidate who embodies both generational insight and grassroots familiarity.

“Remo has produced great leaders like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and our revered monarch, Oba Babatunde Ajayi. At this defining moment, we need someone who understands our history, shares our aspirations, and is equipped to serve.”

As political parties prepare for the August polls, Osho’s declaration is expected to stir momentum within Remo’s political space, especially among electorates seeking experienced leadership at the federal level.
