BREAKING: Sagamu Commercial Banks Finally Set To Commence Full Operations In July

The managements of the commercial banks that was affected during the Naira scarcity riots in Sagamu has agreed to commence full service back by july.

Recall that on the 20th of February 2023, there was a black day in the history of Sagamu local government where a violent protest was staged due to cash scarcity ravaging the entire country.

Many properties such as Banks, IBEDC office, Sagamu local government secretariat, amongst others were set ablaze and destroyed by the angry mobs and violent protesters.

Since then, all banks in Sagamu have ceased to operate within Sagamu metropolis, saying their lives are not protected considering the ugly incident.

Meanwhile, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland who’s also the Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas had convened series of meetings of all banks and branch Managers in his Palace at the conference hall, Ita Oba, Sagamu, Ogun State to plead with them in order to ameliorate the current situation in Sagamu metropolis.

It was reported by our correspondent that Akarigbo expressed his displeasure over the violent protest and sent his condolence messages to all the affected banks within Sagamu local government.

A close source to the Palace affirmed to The Eaglesforesight  correspondent that the commerical banks in Sagamu would commence full operations by July 2023 after Akarigbo’s tireless interventions.

The Banker’s forum who met with Akarigbo was led by Mrs Adebayo who’s the Manager of first bank, Sagamu branch.

Mrs Adebayo in her words appreciated Akarigbo and Elepe and reiterated that most of the banks are done with the palliatives and rebuilding of the affected banks and would start operation as soon as they are done.

Akarigbo bestowed royal blessings upon them for their cooperation over the years and for hearkening to his voice during this period.

This was ascertained today in a meeting held at the Akarigbo Palace, Ita Oba, Sagamu, Ogun, State where Kabiyesi Elepe, Akarigbo Chief of Staff, Bamofin of Remoland, Mrs Adebayo, other bank officials amongst others were all in attendance.

The affected banks are, Polaris, Uba, First Bank, Gtbank, Stanbic, Zenith, Union Bank amongst others.
