BREAKING: PDP Settles For Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole As Flagbearer In Remo Federal Constituency Bye-Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole as its candidate for the forthcoming bye-election in the Remo Federal Constituency, scheduled to hold on August 16, 2025.
The primary election, held at the LBC Event Center in Sagamu, drew party delegates and observers under the watchful supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ensuring transparency and procedural compliance.
Oluwole emerged victorious with a commanding 88 votes, defeating his only contender, Adesola Jamiu Oyenuga popularly known as Jasper, who secured 18 votes. One ballot was rendered void during the collation process.

The Remo Federal Constituency spans Ikenne, Remo North, and Sagamu Local Government Areas, and is viewed as a critical battleground in the state’s political landscape. The seat became vacant following recent political realignments, prompting INEC to schedule a bye-election to fill the position.
Widely regarded as a grassroots stalwart with deep party experience, Bola Oluwole was received with jubilation by supporters and delegates alike following the announcement of results. His emergence is seen as a strategic move by the PDP to consolidate support and reclaim the federal constituency seat.
Speaking shortly after his victory, Oluwole expressed gratitude to party members and promised to run an issue-based campaign centered on the development aspirations of the Remo people.
With the primaries concluded, the PDP is expected to launch a vigorous campaign across the three local government areas in a bid to secure victory at the polls.
