Breaking: Odeda LG Elections Witness Mass Turnout as OGSIEC Extends Voting Till 3PM
The on-going 2021 Local Government elections in Ogun State have been described as peaceful as the exercise witnessed massive turnout across the Odeda local government area of Ogun state.
According to our correspondents that monitored the election in Odeda local government area of Ogun state.
Our Correspondents visited almost all the wards within the local government, from Ward 7 Obantoko, Osiele Ward 6, Odeda Ward 1, Itest Ward 2, Olodo Ward 3 and Alagbagba Ward 4, the turn out for the election was quite encouraging and have large turnout.
The transition chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. SEMIU Bola Lawal urged the people of Odeda to be part of the electoral process by voting for the right candidate.
Lawal, Who spoke after casting his vote at Ward 6, Polling Unit 04, Camp, Osiele , said it was not right for people to complain about their leader when they fail to vote in candidates of their choice.
He said people of Odeda local government turned out enmass to vote for Folasade Adeyemo because of what Prince Dapo Abiodun has done within two years in Odeda.
He said “The election has been peaceful so far. I’m an APC member and at the end of the election, my expectation is that APC will win this election,” Lawal said.
One of the Teaching Service Commission, Commissioner Olanrewaju Majekodunmi, expressed confidence of winning the election saying, the governor’s unprecedented achievements in Odeda local government areas of Ogun state would spur APC to victory.
He added that the people of Ogun state are so keen to participate in the election process,saying their preference for good governance would trigger them to vote for the right candidate.
Meanwhile,Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, while monitoring the exercise in Wards 11, Polling Unit 19, Sodeke, Isale- Ijeun , and Ward 12, Polling Unit 015, Ibara, all in Abeokuta South Local Government, commended the people for the large turn out.
“The turnout for the election is quite encouraging, and because of the large turnout, we have extended the end of voting from 2:00 pm to 3:00pm, in order not to disenfranchise anyone”, Osibodu said.
