The Ambassador of the United States of America, Mary Beth Leonard paid a courtesy visit to the incoming President at his residence.

Just barely 24hours after the social media was inundated with a well circulated 1993 dated document with the intent to allegedly malign and deceive gullible Nigerians that the United States convicted the incoming President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Ambassador of the United States of America, Mary Beth Leonard paid a courtesy visit to the incoming President at his residence.

The Ambassador apologised on behalf of the United States of America over the misleading information and denies having a hand in the wild spread of such malicious document that is capable of adversely affecting the relationship between the two great nations.

The Ambassador made it clear that the United State never convicted Bola Ahmed Tinubu rather it was the US that went into plea bargain with Tinubu in that matter and was grateful Asiwaju toed the path of peace to resolve the issue back then in 1993.

“Mary Beth Leonard regretted the reasoning rationales of the opposition parties and the gullibility of Nigerians. She condemned the style of politics that involved the use of campaign of calumny to sway votes, stating that is usual counter productive. In her words “mischief making don’t win elections”.

The Ambassador expressed optimism that the 2023 general election will be void of all forms of irregularities.
