This assurance was made during a stakeholder meeting with security agencies and the youths at the Akarigbo palace, where Alhaji Sarki emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the town.

Alhaji Sarki noted that the people of Sagamu have been accommodating and have hosted the Hausa community for years, allowing them to earn their livelihoods peacefully. He stated that the Hausa community has always been grateful for the hospitality and friendship of the Sagamu people and has therefore decided to reciprocate by ensuring that peace and security reign in the town.

The Seriki Hausa emphasized that any threat to Sagamu’s peace and security is a shared concern, and therefore, it is a joint responsibility of all residents to ensure that peace reigns in the town. He called on all stakeholders, including community leaders, youth groups, and security agencies, to work together to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

Alhaji Sarki also stated that the Hausa community has decided not to participate in any protests in Sagamu, even if the host community decides to express themselves. This decision, he explained, demonstrates the Hausa community’s commitment to loving and protecting their host community.
