“In a democratic settings, it is well known that protest is an ingredient of democracy and is a civil right of every citizen,as it is enshrined in section 40 of Nigerian constitution which guarantee the right to peaceful protest as well as section 39 also guarantee the right for freedom of expression.”
“It’s undeniable fact that citizens are passing through difficult time viz-a-viz the untimely removal of subsidy which lead to increase in pump price that leads to high prices of consumer goods. This we understand and as well feel the pains but we must not forget that the protest can be counterproductive and divert attention from meaningful engagement and progress.”
“On this note, RYA want to appeal to every youths across Remoland who are feeling the brunt of the hardship created by inconsistent government policies, hyper inflation affecting food prices, under employment cum unemployment which had made living in the country a miserable life.”
“Security of life and property which is one of the basic responsibility of the government is another phase of our life where the government had failed with level of the Insecurity in country contributing immensely to food shortage making hunger more prevalence with majority of the youth venturing into social vices ventures like prostitution, kidnapping and drug peddling in some cases. The deficit and infrastructural decay most especially in Remoland is enough for our youth to want to embark on a massive protest.”

“However, there’s a common parlance in Remoland that says “ENI BARI TI OGUNLESI A JAWO N’AKOWE” the protesters who has made up their minds in embarking on blockage of roads leading to major cities to know that in as much as it’s their right to assemble, they should not forget that this does not gives them room to be destructive since the constitution guarantee only peaceful assembly but not destruction of public properties and our meager facilities that’s not even enough to serve our interest as most of our leaders had turned blind eye to development of our motherland not to talk of meaningful youth empowerment.”
“However, Remo Youth Association as a body shared all the emotions and sentiments of all our members and other youths in Ogun State and Nigeria at large but experience is the best teacher. The aftermath of of the *END SARS* saga in Lagos and the Emefiele’s cash crunch protest in Sagamu as a case study” are protests that was peaceful initially but was later hijacked and turned to violent which resulted in mass destruction of public and private facilities like banks, markets and individual smes place of business leaving a sour memory in our brain should not in anyway be repeated.”
“Every discerning individual who loves Remo Land knows that embarking on any protest of it’s kind is not the best decision at this time. It should be incumbent upon all to quench the fire of violence rather than ignite them.”
“Remo Youth Association believes that there are more than a single way to kill a bird hence embarking on an alternative pragmatic approach that will bring on board the needed result in Ogun State and Nigeria at large should be adopted.”
“The association is in talk with the representatives of the government to organise an all inclusive town hall meeting in all the headquarters of each local government that made up Remoland to ask questions as well as make workable solutions to the identified raised issues with a timeline for government to implement such agreements made in such town hall meeting.”
“Remo Youth Association is hereby appealing to all community based youths association, religious youth bodies and the student community that reside in Remoland to please stay away from any planned protest in any part of Remoland as it has nothing to offer but harm also youths should not see this call as a call to surrender but a call to caution and explore other peaceful alternatives to express our grievances.”
“We shall all witness the envisage greatness in our motherland.”
God bless Remo Youth,
God bless Remoland,
God bless Ogun State,
God bless Nigeria
