Former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun has commiserated with the Onabule’s on the demise of a former spokesperson to a former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Duro Onabule.

Onabule, an indigene of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, died on Tuesday at the age of 83.

Amosun while also condoling with the former Head of State and the Nigerian Union of Journalists, described Onabule as a foremost journalist, who he said: “contributed immensely to the growth of journalism and the development of our nation.”

The former Governor noted that Chief Onabule discharged himself creditably well in all areas of his journalism practice, adding that his objective and analytical contributions to issues of national importance will be sorely missed.

“He was a successful journalist who exhibited hard work, professionalism, and candour during his meritorious career as a reporter for the Daily Express, London correspondent of the Express, Deputy Editor of Daily Times, Editor of Concord newspaper, a columnist in The Sun Newspapers, and the Presidential Spokesman to the then Nigeria’s Head of State, Gen. Babangida, among others.

The Ogun Central Senator prayed that the Almighty God will grant the renowned journalist eternal rest, and give his entire Onabule family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
