Alive Foundation Tackling Period Poverty With Reusable Pads

A non governmental organization, Alive Foundation recently had an outreach with the theme ” Clothing Drive and How Girls Can Make Their Own Reusable Pads”

 

The outreach was held at Arulogun Community, ibadan, Oyo state.

 

The Foundation distributed clothes, shoes and bags of different age groups and also taught the women in the community how to make their own reusable pads.

The main idea behind the reusable pads is to provide sustainable solution for rural girls and women and also to reduce the exposure of the sensitive part to harsh and toxic chemicals than disposable pads.The Reusable pads can be reuse for a year or more unlike disposable pads.

 

The pad will take care of their worries and reduce their exposure to infection.

 

On Saturday , December 18, Alive Foundation team in Lagos will be reaching out to Ilaje community in Bariga. To give out clothes and also teach the female dwellers in the community how to make their own reusable pads.

 

“If women learn how to make reusable pads, they can also use it as a means of livelihood, turning into a wealth- creation avenue.
