The Osun State government has approved the use of Osogbo Stadium for the presidential meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC), even though the former governor did not approve such use for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) when he took office. power was.
In a statement on Wednesday, the state government said the stadium was approved to manage the tense security atmosphere in Osun State and direct security and other agencies to ensure maximum security at the stadium.
Consequently, the state’s governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, directed the state police command and the Department of State Services (DSS) to enforce state directives to ensure peace and tranquility throughout the state.
In addition, Adeleke further ordered the Osun natives to remain peaceful and calm, while at the same time warning against any attempt to create conflict in the state.
Meanwhile, the Osun State government has called on residents of the state to stay away from the APC presidential meeting in Osogbo on Thursday, describing those who came for the campaign as prone to violence.
In a statement Wednesday night, the state government urged residents to avoid the venue of the rally, claiming there are credible reports that the APC has imported felons into the state.
“The APC imported their agents of death. There is a chance that they will fight and brawl. It is important for our people to stay safe away from the collection of angry hands,” the statement affirmed.
