On Wednesday, Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke approved the payment of Social Security benefits, arrears of half salaries, contributory retirees and others for active, retired employees in Osun.
This was announced in a letter signed by KN Akintola on behalf of the Chief of State Services, and our reporter was given a copy in Osogbo.
According to the letter, the governor also ordered the immediate payment of half-salaries for January 2016 and subsequent half-salaries to be paid quarterly beginning in the second quarter of 2023.

Adeleke ordered payment of “back half salaries to contributory retirees (state and local) who have not received their bonds as of February 2023.”
He added: “Payment of four (4) months of outstanding deductions (May and June 2019, February 2020 and October 2022) beginning with the immediate payment of the May 2019 deduction and the other three (3) monthly deductions in one quarterly; and cash backing from 2019 to 2022 promotional exercises”.
