AAC Guber Candidate, Harrison Adeyemi Accuses Abiodun Of Imposing Traditional Ruler
The Ogun State governorship candidate of Alliance Action Congress (AAC), Hon. Harrison Adeyemi has accused the state Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of dabbling into the obaship selection process of Abigi town of Ogun Waterside Local Government Area through imposition of a candidate as the traditional ruler of the town.
Speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital, Adeyemi pleaded with the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun not to disrupt the peaceful coexistence of Onipe Kingdom, “following his recent moves at introducing the warrant Chiefs” in the selection of a new king for the town.
While urging the Governor to steer clear and not interfere in the selection process, Adeyemi disclosed that the people of Abigi town have “unanimously rejected” the introduction of the warrant chiefs when in actual sense, the Council of Kingmakers are still intact and ready to perform their functions.
“The kingmakers should be allowed to interface with the royal families to guarantee a free and fair selection process. I want to encourage Gov. Abiodun to be more focused on his agenda at fulfilling all the promises he made to the people of the state instead of running after an irrelevance of trying to hijack the role of the established Council of Kingmakers”.
