Adamawa Assembly Orders Removal Of ‘Hostile Hippopotamus’ From Dam For Killing Fisherman
The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday passed three resolutions mandating relevant ministries in the state to immediately remove what it calls a “hostile hippopotamus” from a reservoir of Kiri Dam in the Shelleng Local Government Area.
The resolutions were a response to the reported killing of a fisherman by the said hippopotamus.
Eaglesforesight reports that the resolutions were directed to the state Ministry for Environment, the Ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture and the Ministry of Water Resources.
The lawmakers mandated the ministries to visit the Kiri Dam, created from River Gongola at Babban Daba in Kiri to fish out the hippopotamus said to have been attacking fishermen in the river.
